Want to make 25/hr? – Become a Digital Marketer Today!

Make $25 An Hour As A Digital Marketer.

What’s up marketers and entrepreneurs, Rod Robinson here answering a question I received from Cory a long time member. How can I make $25 an hour in digital marketing? I want to give you two tips on how to make that $25 an hour and it’s pretty easy.

You don’t have to have a degree or any elaborate education.

I always say concentrate on developing specific skills related to a specialty of digital marketing that interests you. Then get ready to put yourself in a position to work hard and get the experience. But always start with developing your skill set. That’s the difference between somebody making $25 + per hour versus somebody who’s making $7.50 per hour. Skilled labor and hard work versus unskilled labor and just kind of keeping up, that’s the difference.

You May Already Have Digital Marketing Skills

The first thing to do is to develop those the core marketing skills you currently have. Graphic design, content creation for email and social media, pay-per-click (PPC) and search engine optimization (SEO) are the most sought after digital marketing skills. So, if you have SEO skills, if you have email marketing skills, if you have PPC advertising skills, you can get a job as a Digital Marketing Specialist or Manager or a related job like Paid Ad Specialists, or Email Marketing Campaign manager making at least $52,000 a year.

You Need To Have Confidence

Making $25 an hour is pretty easy if you combine those core marketing skills with confidence when you interview. I have interviewed a lot of people and it baffles me that some people come in and they undersell themselves. They don’t have the confidence and you just don’t know how that reflects on the amount of money that you’re going to make in the future. Hiring managers are not going to take you seriously if you don’t have confidence in yourself. If you don’t have confidence in yourself, how am I going to have confidence in you? You got to keep that in mind when you go to promote yourself. You promote yourself by putting yourself in the best position and the best way to do that is to have the skills and experience. When interviewing say I’ve done this for multiple companies, I can help you do the same thing too.

Portfolio, Resume & Certifications?

Yes, you need to have a portfolio and a resume to make that $25 an hour but do you need certifications? Any marketing certifications can help. Google Analytics certifications, Google AdWords certifications, facebook marketing certification, there are many options. This will help you put yourself in the position to win.

Should I Freelance?

So number one is to get a job but to fill the gaps between jobs you can freelance to gain experience. Freelancing is the exact same process the only difference is you acquire experience with clients rather than an employer. Obviously, with a job you go to Indeed or Monster you apply for the job, you get the job and they pay you on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. Just routine. Freelance is a different story, you can go out and acquire customers and you can deal with multiple companies. You can do one, three, five, ten, companies if you like. Thing is you’re doing the same exact thing, just on a 1090 and instead of a W-2 traditional format that everybody else. You have more flexibility but you have more responsibility also, so there are pros and cons to each.

If you have the skills and know-how confidence I always recommend you guys get a job rather than freelance to gain experience. Start with a job because a job is going to put you in a position where you don’t have the pressure to acquire clients. It’s a little bit more structured than freelance. I’m not saying it’s better, I’m just saying I like to start with a steady job first so you get the confidence level and the experience. Get that resume filled out and then you can incorporate freelance while you have a job. This is a two-pronged approach so that you can ease into freelance, not just get thrown into the fire. But if it comes down to that obviously you want to make that work but if we had the option then the two-proged approach is best.


To wrap this up yes you can make $25 an hour or $52,000 a year with digital marketing relatively easily. It comes down to how you develop your skills, build your experience, and apply self-confidence and how you display that in your interview. When you’re going out and acquiring a client what do you do in your presentation when you’re trying to get that business.
